This past wednesday I had the opportunity to go to the L.A. Univision Studios and cover the 2008 Los Angeles Capital Market Gains 2008 Contest presented by the CFA Society of L.A. and the C.C.E.E. Teams of high school students from all over participated in a Stock Market simulation and moved onto the next phase of the competition which consisted of an essay and oral presentation based on the current status of the U.S. Stock Market.
My contact Bernard Mauricia showed me around the amazing building and I then had the opportunity to photograph the teams as they trickled in. The teams were greatly diverse and came from all over the southland.I was impressed by all of their presentations and their extremely articulate deliveries. Some were a little nervous, which of course is totally understandable and others would give Mr. Bernanke a run for his money (if he has any left after filling his gas tank).
All of the teams had great delivery as well as a monster screen and nice "little" plasma to show their visual presentations.
Ultimately the winners of the competition were the team members from the California Academy of Math & Science! Good luck cashing that check! Your going to need a really big pen!
